God's Masterpiece
Psalm 33:13-15
From heaven the Lord looks down
and sees all mankind;
from his dwelling place he watches
all who live on earth—
he who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.
“You are God’s masterpiece, before you were born, God created you for your life’s purpose.” -Unknown
God sees me.
There have been times in my life when I have felt unseen, as if I didn’t matter. Those times in school when I didn’t get picked for the team or participate in the cool activities. I joke that my highlight of high school was being on the yearbook committee and not in band or sports, but it turned out yearbook was the perfect place for me. I worked in the high school library too where I shelved books, and again a job where I wasn’t seen but prepared me for my adult career.
God sees me.
The Lord knew my future. He saw what I didn’t, a life surrounded by books, where I might not take center stage, but I have a wonderful purpose of sharing words with the world. Sometimes I get discouraged when a book doesn’t sell or I spin my wheels to create a story. I admit I get discouraged, but I thank God for the opportunity to write, as I pray for His guidance.
Psalm 33 reminds me of God’s ability and desire to know his children. He created me to be who I am, and every experience I’ve encountered has prepared me for today. The verses say the Lord looks down from his dwelling place. He also dwells within me through the Holy Spirit who guides me.
Thank you, Lord, for seeing me and knowing me and guiding my path.
God sees you too. He loves you and knows you.
