A Crown of Splendor
Proverbs 16:31
Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of
righteousness.
Today is my sixty-eighth birthday, hence the reference to gray hair, or in my case—white. 😊
To celebrate—instead of writing my typical devotion, I’m asking you to share your favorite scriptures with me.
Here are a few of mine:
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
... and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own
business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your
daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be
dependent on anybody.
This verse has always resonated with me. God wants me to work
with my hands and take care of my loved ones as I live in obedience to him.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
I’m so thankful I can trust the Lord with all my heart.
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so
that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
There is nothing like the hope I have in Jesus or the
peace and joy I gain from following him.
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace
of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts
and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Thank God, I can pray and lay my burdens at the feet of
Jesus.
I’d love to know your favorite Bible verses. Share with me,
please.
